If ever there was a time that Cedar Rapids needed decisive leadership, that time is now. We’ve lost homes, schools, businesses and churches…but most challenging is the number of good people who have left our community as a result of this crisis.
Instead of clear, unified decision-making, our city government has given us studies, over paid out-of-state consultants and delays. At a time when we desperately needed our local leaders to present a clear plan to the state and federal government, we’ve had indecision and a reliance on outsiders to make decisions for us.
Imagine if Quaker, Penford, Cargill and the other businesses that have reopened after the flood made the decision to wait and delay. Had they, many more people would be out of work.
There may be a time to study issues, but now is not that time. We have enough clear thinking people in our community to make the bold decisions necessary to recover and grow.

I think Ron is right on with this issue. They need to stop delaying in City Hall and begin to move things forward. It’s crazy that the businesses have rebuilt while City Hall is still talking about it.
Go get em Ron. Cedar Rapids needs some real leadership. Your the right guy for the job.
Much like the proud Ho Chunk Nation, or the brave Polish Cavalry during WW2, Ron stands for action, not words.
Ron is hitting the nail right on the head in all the comments he has been making about what is or is not happening in City Hall. The “BIG PICTURE’ is that the people of Cedar Rapids are not receiving
proper representation from our present City Council or City Manager. This Council seems to be making up their rules as they go along. This past year has been really bad for alot of our citizens
and they have not been able to get the answers they need from the City Administration.Instead of
trying to help the city, and it’s citizens, they are looking at ways to stop us from having any say in
decisions that do affect us,they are coming up with money to do things that they want to get but not what the city really needs, they are giving outrageous pay raises to employees, and the list goes on and on.We hardly ever hear anything from the Mayor, but from the Mayor pro-tem instead. The
Mayor seems to be hiding out just like she did during the flood.
Cedar Rapids needs a Mayor who will try to work with and for the people of Cedar Rapids.I have
known Ron Corbett for over 20 years,I first met him at Hawkeye Downs when he had Peppy’s.We
have not always agreed, but Ron has shown me that he really cares about Cedar Rapids and the
citizens.Ron is the type of person who will, and can, lead this city and get us back on track.I am proud to state that I am,and will continue to,support Ron Corbett for Cedar Rapids Mayor. For a good change, vote Ron Corbett for Mayor.
