We have all heard the bad news! Ellis pool will not reopen this year. . .

First homeowners and small business owners were put on hold, then Veterans,
and now the kids must wait. The kids of this flooded neighborhood have
endured the loss of home and possessions, and now they will miss a summer
of fun at the pool. Their standard of living has suffered greatly and must
be improved. Indecision, preoccupation and the “culture of delay” make
pool repairs too late for the 2009 season. The city council surely knew
there would be another swim season. This is a travesty, and as Mayor, I
will make absolutely sure that Ellis pool is open in time for the 2010 swim
season!!
